action in circuit court against the
Salem Bank of Commerce for the
sum of $723.50. They allege that
the bank delivered a certain re
lease for that amount to A. C.
Nelson regarding a loan. The re

ized, -and are suing on the theory
that the bank is therefore responsible.

Returns to La Grandr
Dr. V. L. Hamilton, who had
been called here in consultation
on the case of Mrs. Ray Clinton
who is seriously ill, returned to
his home in La Grande on Sun
day. Dr. Hamilton and his fam
ily left Salem about two months
ago to make their home in La
Grande.
