New Bank Not Allowed A proposal of Jacob, von Well and 29 other residents of Sheri dan and vicinity to organize a new state bank there,' has been reject ed by A. A. Schramm,4 state super intendent of banks, according to announcement , made here Satur day. It was said that the decision of the superintendent or nanas would be appealed to the state banking board for final considera tion. The application was denied tor economic reasons.- The peti tion for a charter set out that the 80 persons Interested in organizing the new bank had subscribed tor 60 shares of stock. The new bank was to have capital and surplus of 325,001). j The proposal to organize new bank followed a futile at tempt to reorganize the defunct Sheridan State bank, which was closed by order of the state super intendent of banks on September 23. . .
