The monthly meeting o the tri-
county medical society was held
last night at the Gray Belle yes
t&urant. This society is made up
of doctors front Marlon. Polk and
Yamhill ; counties. Dr.. William
House of Portland addressed last
night's meeting ! with a paper on
some of the newer things in sur

State traffic officers from rarl-

Marion county health demonstra
tion, will leave early this morning
for Palo Alto, where he will take
up his new work as Instructor in
the health department of Stanford
university. C . -
"The three years I have spent
here -have endeared Salem - and
Marlon county to me, and it Is
with regret-that t leave, although
I look forward to my new work
with hope and pleasure," said Dr
Brown, last night.
"I feel certain that the work of
the demonstration will be car
ried on by the county organiza
tion after it closes in Salem. Co
operation of every group has been
splendid, and the health program
has had an auspicious beginning.
My successor, Dr. De Kleine Is an
unusually able man, and I know
that he will have the cordial sup
port I, have enjoyed."

main in Salem until school is out
in the spring. She is a senior at
Salem high school.
