Bonus Group Sues -
The State Bonus commission
yesterday filed suit in Marion
county circuit court to foreclose
on a note given by Carl Gibson
when he was given $2000 in state
money. It is alleged that only
$144.86 has been paid on the prin
cipal, plus a little interest. The
commission seeks to foreclose on
lot 51 of Sunnystde Fruit Farm,
which was put up as security.

a few hours'yesterday on-his way
to Medford where he will defend
Terry Talent, a prohibition officer
who is charged with manslaughter
in connection with the death of
Mansfield Zimmerlee of that place.
Talent is alleged to have shot and
killed Zimmerlee as the latter ran
from him. '

Several cases have come to the
attention of county school author
ities of children in the county who
have not yet begun to . attend
school, it was reported at the of
fice of the county superintendent
yesterday. "They say they have
to stay out and pick potatoes, but
the law doesn't recognize anything
of that sort," it was stated yes
terday by Mrs. Mary Fulkerson,
the superintendent. Beginning to
