Honored On Wedding Anniversary , ... , Mr. and Mrs.- Edward Dunigan were the honor guests at a re ception given last Sunday in their country, home near Howell Prair ie in observance of their fortieth wedding anniversary. Many of their friends and rel atives called in the afternoon. Among the gifts received by the honor guests was a ruby pin given .Mrs. Dunigan and a gold engraved ruby ring given Mr. Dunigan by the six children of the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Dunigan are well known in western Oregon, having made their home at Howell Prairie for the past twenty years. Refreshments were served at the close of the afternoon. Faculty Reception Honors Willamette University Freshmen The annual reception sponsor ed by the faculty of . Willamette University in honor of the mem bers of the freshmen class was given Monday evening in Lausan ne Hall 7:30 until 9:30 o'clock.' The hall was decorated with baskets of gladioli and asters. The receiving line included Dr. Carl Gregg Doney, Dean and Mrs. F. MErickson, and Dean Dahl. Piano numbers by Miss ?Gloria Grafton, and Miss Eugenia Sav age,, a vocal solo by Miss. Local Try-Out For Atwater Kent Radio Audition Will Be Held Saturday The local committee having charge of the Atwater Kent Foun dation Audition met Tuesday eve ning at the Chamber of Com merce. Mrs. Walter A. Denton presided. It was reported that nearly 20 candidates have signified their in tention to participate in the. con- ' test, several of the applications being from neighboring commun ities.
