OF SALES RECORD
Annual Report Shows Assets
Now Exceed $10,000,
000; Earnings High
That sales of Marmon cars so
far this year have held at record
volume and that the Marmon
Motor Car company, as a result,
has further strengthened its fi
nancial position in the indastry
definitely shown in the annual
statement of the company for the
fiscal year ending July 2, 1927.
The statement shows total as
sets of more than $10,000,000, a
gain of nearly $2,000,000 over the
previous fiscal year, and the ratio
of current assets to liabilities now
is more than three and one-halt
to one.
Earnings for the year were
equivalent to more than 10 per
cent on the outstanding common
stock of the company, exclusive
of preferred dividend require
ments, interest, taxes, etc. During
the year the company also retired
$250,000 of its serial gold notes.
"One of the outstanding fea
tures of the Marmon success this
year has been that the usual sum
mer falling off in sales has been
entirely absent. July and August
sales of the Marmon Eight are
holding at the same level as in the
spring months when new records
were established.
"Production schedules of the
Marmon company call for .an out
put of cars at an undiminished
rate during the remainder of the
summer and the fall. Several mil
lion dollars of orders from the dis
tributive organization continue on
the books, indicating that autumn
business may exceed even that of
the spring months."

"There's one thing I wish to get straight about
this flight' -'Captain Lindbergh said in his own
story of adventure in the New York Times.
"They call me lucky, but luck isn't enough. As a
matter of fact, I had what I regarded and still
regard as the best existing plane to make the
flight from New York to Paris. And I had what
I regard as the best engine." j
