The wedding gifts were displayed in the room. Mrs. Chittenden's going away costume was of wistaria flat crepe with close fitting hat to harmonize. After the wedding trip of a fort night to the Oregon beaches. Mr. and Mrs. Chittenden will be at home to their friends in their country home near Independence. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lee Return from the Beaches Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lee and their daughter, Patsy Lee, re turned recently from the Tilla mook beaches. Ladies' Aid Society of W. R. C. Entertained on Thursday Afternoon . Members of the Ladles' Aid Society of the Woman's Relief Corps were entertained on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. A. Remington. Readings were given by Mary Ackerman. Clara Adams. Julia Blodgett." Hanna L. Hlggips, Ruth Dennison, Jennie F. B. Jones, Bertha Loveland, Louise King, Laura McAdams, Jennie Martin, Mary Watson, Mrs. Pieb les, and Mrs. Newby. A short eddress was given by J. J. New ciyer, commander of Sedgewick post, G. A. R., who was a guest for the afternoon. Additional guests were Mrs. Beaver, Pauline Remington, J. A. Remington, Mrs. Eastland, and Comrade T. Remington. The hostess was assisted at the tea hour by Clara Adams, Charity Gamble, Louisa Kraps, Cordelia La Bare. Mettle Sch ram, and Julia Blodgett. The annual picnic of this or ganization will be held in the grpve at the fairgrounds on August 31. In Summer Cottage at Twin Rocks Mrs Charles Brant and Miss Mary Scollard. are in Purdy-Ar-den cottage at Twin Rocks for a part of the month. Spending the Week at Cannon Beach A. L. Byrd. J. H. McFarland, and R. M. McFarland are spend ing the week at Cannon Beach. Motoring to E eastern Oregon Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Johnston are leaving Monday by motor for eastern Oregon where they expect to remain for the next ten days. In Morrow they will be guests of their son, Theodore Johnston, and from there Mr. and Mrs. Johnston will go to Canada where theyvwill visit with another son, Perry Johnston. North Salem W. C. T.
