the f ull distance without relief.
The Masury rubber motor mount
ting also served to cushion the mo
tor as the car rolled the 500 miles
at high speed while many of the
veteran oilots of the speedway fell
by the v lyside on account of mo
tor tr; yble that was due to pound
ing o-. er the brick course.
. F. a:uy, Inventor of the
moior ai -ion now in use on
the Star Four, was present at the
speedway and witnessed the sensaf-
tional victory of the young uir
known driver who led the classiest
field of starters ever assembled
for an automobile race "to the1 fin

seven miles. Masury said it did

Trading in Used Autos
Makes for Huge Volume
WASHINGTON Ninety per cent
of the automotive sales in jjie
Fredericton district of Canada
are made "through trading in used
cars, 'most' of the dealers finding
a ready sale for fully half of the
cars taken in and an eventual sale
of all- i-'; f (
Advices from an American con
sul to the automotive division of
the department of commerce state
that one of the largest dealers has
""found the fixed-price system of re
selling used cars .unsatisfactory,
while several other firms .believe
otherwise and consistently .use
this system. ., r .
' Three of, the most important
dealers state that they cannot, as
a rule.' resell a used' car for -the
price allowed on a hew one. Ilbw-i
evert others slate the allow cn a
trade-in only, "an amount . for
which it can, be resold. -
In the opinion of the majority
of the dealers,, the report points
out, sale of used cars ts tending
to affect' the sale of new models.
A4 about every fourth family in
Fredericton -owns a' car of somo
sort.'. It; means that the ale of
new cars is usually made by trad
ing a 'used tar. - :
