Lloyd has registered a mark of
20 feet, 11 inches. Allen of
Pendleton is said to have made a
mark of 21 feet. 8 laches.
In the relay, Salem is conceded
good chance to win, in spite of
the big showing made by Portland
high schools id the Eugene relays.
Other good teams entered in this
event are. Jefferson of Portland;
Oiraat of Portland, La Grande,
Madras,"Hood River and Baker.
Incidentally, one of the men
who is expected to figure high in
the pole vault and the high lump
13 you rig Lyman of L4 Grande,
who. played center for the basket;
ball team from "that school in the
tournament last March at Willam
ette university. Lyman made 26
points for his team in the first
game. .
The Salem man athletes are
holding their, final workouts this
week and will be in splendid con
