The. Mail Tribune iomorrcrw . will
publish a special dispatch from
Robert W. Ruhl, its editor,' now in
San Francisco, to the effect that
the mother of Hugh De Autremont
has been summoned from her
home in Lake wood. New.. Mexico
at the request of the prisoner, for
reasons , which the federal auth
orities refuse to divulge. She will
arrive in San Francisco Tuesday,
the dispatch says.
" The dispatch is as follows:
Sheriff Jennings and son left
tonight for Medford, being assur
ed De Autremont; will not be turn
ed, over to Jackson county auth
orities for a week or 10 days.
District Attorney Chaney remain
ed to close up certain legal mat
ters but will probably leave to
morrow or Monday.
The De Autremont case has
reached a deadlock, the only new
development being the summon
ing of Mrs. De Autremont, mother
of the prisoner, from her home in
Lakewood, N. M She is expected
to arrive here Tuesday and will be
taken at once to her son's cell in
Alcatraz federal prison.
. Federal authorities maintain
Mrs. De Autremont has been sum
moned at Hngh's request but for
what reason they will not state.
The mother has always urged her
sons to return and clear up the
Charges against them, so this may
be a final effort to secure a state
ment from Hugh.
