Miss Marie Churchill of Port land is spending the week-end in Salem as the guest of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Laird Are Hosts at Their Home on Garden Road Mr. and Mrs. Ora Laird enter tained ten friends at dinner Wed nesday evening. A color scheme of yellow and green was carried out, the flowers being daffodils. Th colors were also carried out in the menu. Later pinochle was played at three tables, Mrs. Ira Follis and Mr. Raffety winning high score, while the low award went to Mr. Meaney. Invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Abst, Mr. and Mrs. I. L. At this time the junior choir of the First. Presbyteriaa church in Cor vallis, with Byron D. Arnold, con ducting, will give the program. . ' The soloists ' of the . afternoon will be Lueelia Bates and Howard Hal bert. violinists, pupils of-Mrs--Marguerite MacManns, Ronald Hall, organist, and John Roland. French born.' ' ' Miss Cornelia Munstnger will accompany the choir at the pipe organ, while Stella Calrncross will accompany at the piano. In addition to the anthems by the choir, and the different solos, the program will consist of trios for the piano, pipe organ and vio lin, and a double concerto for two violins.
