SUOTAY e MORNING., FEBRUARY 6, 1927 My V I IT V, j Dr. Aurelia Henry Reinhardt, Noted Educator, Spends 7 IFfnes2ay in Salem The most distinguished edu cator who has visited in Salem in many weeks was Dr. Aureflla Henry Reinhardt, ' president of Mills college, who spent Wednes day In Salem. A fall schedule opened with the public chapel services at 11:15. at which Dr. Reinhardt was the guest-speaker. Dr. Carl Gregg Doney. president of Willamette university, introduced the visiting president who heads an institu tion which ranks with Wellesley, Bryn Mawr, Mt. Holyoke and Vas- sar. Dr. Doney presented Dr. Reinhardt as a woman with a great Cair for scholarship, as a creative spirit who won her degree of doctor of philosophy from Yale university. In her address. Dr. Reinhardt named the three fundamental uses of a college, (1) To wake up the student, to bring about a regener ation of mind, and a conviction of the "moral obligation of intelli gence.'
