Diebenon of Portland took place at high noon Christmas day in the Court apart ments of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Flack, uncle and aunt of the bride. The Rev. E. C. Ward of the First Congregational church offici ated, using the ring ceremony. The bride was lovely in a silk rose crepe dress trimmed with silver metalic braid. She wore a cor sage of bride's roses, violets and lilitse of the valley, intermingled with maiden hair .fern and ostrich feathers. The bridal couple took f heir place before a lighted Christ mas tree and under the mistletoe. . The rooms were cheery with fes tlve decorations. A Christmas dinner was served immediately following tfre cere mony. The wedding cake graced the center of the table with red tapers in silver holders on each v side. The bride's cake was cut and served by the bride. The young couple will be at home in the Baker apartments : Portland, after January 15. Court House Christmas Tree Receives Publicity A magazine entitled "The Por tal," and published at Cincinnati, Ohio, features the following letter concerning Salem's civic Christmas tree. The letter is signed by La Fahn Astle, aged 14, of Hutchin son, Kansas. The letter is as follows: "In the yard f the court house at Sa lem, Oregon, there is a huge Hr tiee that towers almost as high as the building itself.
