Ferry Boat Adrift
The Independence ferry boat.
which has been tied up since the
installation of a new ferry last
winter, broke away from its moor
ings and drifted down the river to
Eola, where it grounded on a bar.
Little damage was done to the
boat, as far as could be learned.

Drunk Man Arrested
D. Herbert .was arrested last
night by local police officers on
a charge of drunkenness. He
tried to conceal his identity under
the alias of "Woodhouse," but was
recognized as a former inmate of
the city jail on a similar charge.
