Several county , investigations were made to investigate water supply and septic tanks. Water supply and sanitary conditions of school' buildings was 'given most attention. . A' total of 91 births were re ported in Marion county last month, five of them being still births. Of the remaining 86. 41 were male and 4 5 female. Fifty of the births were in Salem. 2ft of these being' male and .24 female. Excluding still-births, there there were 61 deaths in the coun ty, two of them being -children un der one year of age. - Twenty-four of the remaining deaths took place in state institutions, 17 in Salem, 16 in the rest of the bunty, and two were non-resident.
