PUBLIC INSPECTS MM 4000 Persons . rjavef: Seen Laundry Operating in Last Few Months The new Salem laundry, which is operated by E. L. Wieder and son'- Van WIeder opened their plant for two hours last Wednes day evening,, with all equipment in full operation for the benefit of people whoa could not visit the laundry during the daytime. All visitors were delighted with what they saw and the courtesies entended. , This new laundry Is certainly a credit to Salem, was the general expression. It is housed in a handsome concrete building, with splendid light and ventilation. - - 1 The equipment -is of the latest type and much of it really marvel ous almost : human in Its action. The carefulness with which the Salem laundry handle the clothes of its customers was most favor ably commented on by many vis itors. The steam for heating all ma chines and"wktdr Ja supplied by the Tortland Electric power company, and as this -steam goes back to water, is is used for washine. E. L.' Miss Putngm Returns to Salem ot Miss Elizabeth Putnam has re turned home following a seven months absence in the east, hav ing gone to New York by way of the Panama canal. Miss Putnam was the house-guest of Grace Sto rey Putnam and Miss Bruce Put nam at Long Island. She was a gnest at the wedding of Miss rut- nam to Robert Howe.
