the LALdlo Triangle, which Is com
posed of girls from the 8th grade

The tables were decorated with

of Girl Reserves from Parr ish high
school - are planning two one-act
plays which they are . to give on
the evening of May 21 at the West
Salem Methodist church.1 Miss Vir-,
ginia Merle Crltes, advisor of the
triangle, is teaching the girls, and
will help them! present the plays.

Dennis Home
Mr. and Mrs. Major Dennis were
hosts on Tuesday evening at an
enjoyable meeting planned for the
pleasure of members of the B. E.
club. Tamarask, roses and weige-
lia .were lovely throughout the
rooms. Following, the pot-luck
supper fire hundred was enjoyed.
The high scores of the evening
were won by Mrs. O. L. Scott and
Charles Townsend. Dr. O. L. Scott
and Mrs. Carl Jepson won the con
solation awards.
At the next meeting of the club

entertain.

,A young grapefruit seedling in
bloom, which was grown in Ore
gon by Mrs. W, W. Rosebraugh, Is
on display this week in the second
window of the United States Na
tlonal bank. Mrs. Rosebraugh
planted the grape fruit seeds last
year and already there is a bios
som. The interesting bloom, re
sembling a jasmine corolla in
shape, is larger and of a creamier
color.

During the day a total of 693
people visited the park, - brought
there by 217 machines'. The day
was Udeal and at least one-third
of the visitors had picnic dinners
and family reunions. With Sunday
as a criterion, Champoeg day, Sat
urday, May 1, will find the park a
swarm of humanity and the park
proper crowded with automobiles.
The attendance will excel that of
any two previous gatherings. The
Newberg Chamber of Commerce
promises to send one-half of the
town's population on that day and
thereby pay tribute to the memory
of Ewing Young, whoso clay is
buried within the borders of Yam
hill county.
TRUCK BANDITS SOUGHT
PORTLAND POLICE SEARCH
ING FOR THREE BANDITS
PORTLAND, April V (A.P.)
Several fruitless attempts, most
of them leading into the wooded
country to the south and west of
the city, were followed to the
ground by police inspectors to
day in their attempt to locate a
definite trail that might lead them
to the bandits that robbed the
Portland Electric Power com
pany's money truck yesterday
morning and; escaped with loot of
small coins totalling 14,745.
