John Tanser, for divorce, has filed a motion in circuit court asking that Tanzer be compelled to give her money with which to continue the suit. Churchill, state superin tendent of schools, will submit his resignation to Governor Pierce prior to May 1, according to an nouncement made here Saturday. Auto Department May Expand Negotiations are under way be tween Sam Kozer, secretary of state; and the Salem school board with aAylew to renting the Wash ington school building for use of the automobile department, it is said. Mr. Kozer has inspected the building and has asked for floor plans which will be sub mitted Monday. Mrs. Xorris Dies Word has Just reached Salem of the death, in Venice, California, of Mrs. -W. H. Norris, far many years a resident of this city. It will be remembered that Mr. and Mrs. Norris resided in Salem for a number of years, during which time Mr. Norris was receiver of the Hubbard building, and had charge thereof for several years. Mrs. Norris died on the 26th day of March, in the California city, and had been in ill health for a considerable period of time prior to her death. From City By the Sea Hon. James W.
