Modern Stores and Homes
Make Attractive Residen
tial Section
Building activity throughout
North Capitol has become so
marked of late, that a little model
suburb has sprung up around the
enterprises of those -who are
building and buying homes there.
Some five years ago, John Wil
liamson and his wife came from
San Antonio, Texas, and began ac
tivities on North Capitol, then
marked only by open fields. Dur
ing the first year Mr. Williamson
of oils. An auto camp, occupy
ing a ful block and bating about
20 cabins, is open all year round
and veil patronized.
Williamson Addition, opened up
recently with many new homes,
has been veil settled only one
house remaining for sale. Six
teen: new homes will be erected
this spring, completing the addi
tion.; which' has sewer, light and
water. Myrtle avenue," from High
land avenue to the fair grounds,
has been graveled this year and
will be paved next year.
Centering about this activity
are many other business enter
prizes. Early in August. W. P.
Holcomb came from South Da
kota, where he had just sold a
small city electric light plant. Ten
years earlier he had been in Port
land and .liking the country, took
his first opportunity to return. As
an electrical contractor of many
years experience, be purchased
land and built the Holcomb Elec
tric store, oh North Capitol,

mere ornaments. Not so this one.
