Insurance Company Sued
i The Hartford Fire Insurance
company of Hartford, Conn., is
made the defendant in a suit
opened by M. R. Schoeneman. The
plaintiff i suing for (1.000 and
interest at the rate of 6 per cent
from March, in addition- to $300
special attorney fees.

Commission to Meet
.Mayor Ciesy has issued a call
for a meting of the recently ap
pointed zoning commission this
evening at 7:30 o'clock. The
meeting which has as its object
organization, will be held in the
office of the city recorder. The
members will also draw for the
length of time they are to stay
in ofioe. One will be in one
year, two for two years, two for
bree years and two for four
years. After that eaclt member
will servve four years. A pres
ident and vice president are to be
elected and a secretary is to be
selected.

The teachers of Salem will take
farther action in the spring upon
the matter of a readjustment .of
their . salary , schedule, it was
learned Wednesday. Due to:.the
lateness of the decision to hold a
special election for the purpose
of bringing before the people the
matter or a salary rise, it was
found that the election could not
be held In time to get the matter
on the tax rolls this fall. Hence,
the teachers are resting for the
time being.; but intend to see to
it that they allow plenty of time
te get the matter before the tax
payers In the spring.
