Rotarians Addressed
The Salem Rotarians.. at their
weekly luncheon Wednesday, were
addressed by Charles Newaome of
San Francisco, who is connected
with the Western Union company.
He sketched briefly the history of
the telegraph ffom the time of its
invention by Professor Morse up
to the present time. According to
Mr. Newsome, the Western Union
now sends 61 per cent of its mes
sages by means of the multiplex,
such as now on display at the Sa
lem station, which is capable of
