Sorhas Hearing Set !
, Nagel Sorhus, accused of plac
ing a revolver in the yards of the
state prison-" on October 11, had a
preliminary bearing In the justice
court yesterday. Sorhus demand
ed a hearing on the charge and it
was set for November 4. Bail was

The Shelton Pioneer club of the
First Christian church of Salem
Obituary
Howell
Mary S. Howell died at a local
hospital October 29 at the age of
74 years. She is survived by a
sister, Miss Harriet Jerris and a
cousin. Dr. Lewis.' of vportland.
Maine. She was a member of
Chad wick chapter, O. E. S., the
White Shrine. ' and for years a
member of St. Paul's Episcopal
church. Funeral services will be
held at St. Paul's church Sunday
at 3:30 o'clock. The remains will
lie in state at the church from
2:30 unttl time of services. Rev
H. D. Chambels will have charge
of the services. Her remains will
go forward to Portland. Me., for
interment. Webb funeral parlors
