hue is no nearer arrest than ever
and that $65,000 was paid for the
return of the gems.

Conn., 'was indicted by the grand
jury for selling silencers to the
"Cowbooy gang" and was arrested.
. It was alleged he supplied the
Cowboy gang." twelve of whose
members are under arrest, with at
least sixty silencers.
Other developments in the case
against the "Cowboy gang" includ
ed Indictments of three members
for five first degree robberies; in
dictment -of Rose Hemeline, al
leged woman member of the gang,
for assault in connection with a
pistol battle with police; and ar
raignment of six of the gangsters
including the leader, "Cowboy"
Frank Tessler. Tessler was held
without bail while bail for the
others was fixed at $50,000 each.

prevalent," he said, "and a lack
of respect for government and the
conventions of enlightened soci

in the enforcement of the law it
is because there have first been
general failures in the disposition

over to him by a man who said he
