Flags at Half Mast
Brigadier General George A.
White, who is in command of the
Oregon National guard, ordered
Saturday that flags on all of the
armories in the state be lowered
to half-mast Wednesday in honor
of Lieut. Col. John F. Williams,
retired, Oregon National guard,
who died Friday night in Eugene.
His funeral is to be held Wednes
day. He began his military work
in 1899, and during the World
war he served as acting adjutant
general for Oregon for some time.
