phone A Telegraph company, was
the speaker of the day. i He Was
introduced by W."H. Dancy local
manager. Mr.VFelts gave briefly
the history "of the telephone and
told how It , has deyeloped. He
stated that 280,000 young and old
men were now in the organization
and that he expected - tha$ this
number would be doubled within
the next, 10 years. He said that
the company would in the lature
look to graduates of colleges to
fill the positions. "The simple
true story of Jthe Telephone' was

the -developments since the 17th
century when messages were trans
mitted by messengers to the pres

phone line.
Newell Williams gave a brief
report of the trip to Toledo last
Friday at which time members of

KFDJ, was given : last night, 'be
ginning at 7:30" o'clock.;. Music
and talks - of general Interest

the newly -equipped studto in the
administration bull dins;. Official
dedication of the station has been
set for October 16, when a fea
ture program has been arranged.
Thrice 4 week broadcasting will
bf the order of the new station
for the present, though extra fea
tures may be added on short no
tice. The first football game to
be broadcast play by play over
the new set will be Saturday's
mix with Willamette which Will
begin at 1 ; 3 Q , p. m. Wave length
of 2 5 4 "meters will be used ' until
after the official Inspection when
a wave length, in the class B band
will be assigned. Power of 500
watts T will be used from the first.

cast Monday, Wednesday and

coast stations Is a set of EOO-Watt
power which will operate under a
class B license as soon as official
inspection of the set is completed
