But the people of Oregon showed

elected him by a good majority.

that would do credit to anyone,

nor Wlthycombe approachable and
sympathetic with their wants, and
they found Governor Olcott just
the opposite. He was hard to see,
and still harder to interest, when
an ordinary citizen called on him.

tal Journal of Saturday and notic

Governor Pierce for spending so
much time, over the state and
making so many speeches, especi
