The altar 'of the . First Christian
church has seldom been more
beautiful than it was on Wednes
day evening, August 28, , at the
hour of Miss Trista Wenger's.mar-
riage to Mr. Treval Powers. The
Impressive service was read at ,
8:30 o'clock with Rev. J. J. Evans
officiating. The entire background
was a garden of bronze, rose, da
mask, and golden marigolds and
zinnias arranged n countless low
floor baskets before tapestries and
lattices of vine maple. Tiers of
tall white cathedral candles burn
ed throughout the teremony,
which was witnessed oy more
than three hundreds guests. '
Before the ' entrance of the
bridal party, a mixed quartet
concealed behind a screen of an
1 tumn leaves, sang "Because." Mrs
Frank ZInn presided at the organ.

return to Salem to, make their
home at 1425 North" Twenty-first
stret, which will be ready by Octo

Mrs. Powers, the only daughter
of Mrs. Alice Wenger, is especially
prominent in local musical circles
where she Is a favored contralto.
She is a j graduate of the Salem
high school and attended. Willam
ette university last year. She was
member both of the Ladies'
glee club and of the Delta Phi
sorority. Mr. Powers is a graduate
of Willamette university with the
class of ,"25. He is employed by
the state highway department. His
parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. C.
