JURED IN AUTO CRASH .

Commissioner S. C Pier of Port
land, his wife and daughter nar
rowly escaped from being killed
today southeast of Chehalls when
their sedaa left the road, over
turned and burst into flames. Per
sons passing rushed to tbe assist
ance ot Pier and his family.
Pier offered a dislocated should
er blade, a badly cut knee and
other lesser Injuries. Mrs. Pier
and daughter were bruised and
badly shaken up but were not ser
iously hurt.
The family returned to Portland
tonight.
