Vigilence Prevents FJi
Vigilence upon ( the part of
Harry A. Rowe, merchants' patrol
man, early last night, prevented a
fire at the Cherry City Cleaners,
on North High. In makinr bis
rounds Officer Rowe discovered
that the proprietor had faUed to
turn off the electric iron and the
equipment was sending forth
much smoke. Officer Rowe out
out the fire without calling the
department. The damage was
very slight.
Stolen Auto Found

Bomb Outrages Deported

apprehend the trouble makers un

Colonel Ferreira de Amaral, bead
of the Lisbon police, who was shot
on a street corner. Only one of
the group of assailants was ar
rested at the time, but rigid In
vestigations soon revealed the
identity of the others and all were
taken into custody. This proved
an easy task when the police de
cided to act because the leaders
having escaped arrest after pre
vious ' outrages, became bolder
with each succeeding one' and did
not take the trouble to hide from
the police.; . .
Colonel Amaral's fine record in
the World war won for him gen
eral admiration and the police of
all sections of Lisbon joined in a
concerted more to . apprehend - his
assailants.
The Investigations devested that
the terrorists - In addition to the

banks had given large sums of
