A wandering swarm of bees
found a resting place on the eaves
of the Fred Bock home Monday
morning; ' Thinking they would
soon move on, Mr. Rock did not
molest them. Some - time during
the day a hole in the rustic was
discovered and the swarm moved
inside where they are comfortably
hived, between the walls.;. ?Mr.
Rock is now at a loss to know just
how to get rid of the unwelcome
guests. .
The round up people with their
retinue of horses an4 equipment
ar-s arriving daily, and are getting
the grounds in shape for C3e com
ing,; rodeo to be held on July 3rd
and 4th. at the roundup grounds in
the west part of town. Extra seat
ing capacity is being built to take
care of the large crowd which Is
expected on those two days. No
other demonstration out side of
the roundup will be held here on
either day.

Sunday, June 21, was a red let
ter day with St. Anthony, council
No. 2439. Knights of Columbus,
when 27 candidates were Initiated
into the mysteries of the .order In
the Catholic Formation iall in
Stayton. A large crowd was in
attendance at the ceremonies com
ing from, all over the state.
Frank Davey was chosen as
toastmaster and excellent . talks
were listened to from noted mem
bers of the order. A pleasant
musical, entertainment ; was also
rendered. Ten of those initiated
were Salem men and will officiate
with iSalem Council No. 1748, and
the remaining 17 with the Stayton
organiation.'
