ELECTRIC CODE SOUGHT
ORPLXAXCT2 WAY BE READY
FOR COUNCIL MONDAY
Plans are underway at present
by which an electrical code for the
city may be introduced at the next
meeting of the city council, accord
ing to Chris Kowitz, city attorney.
The ordinance will be designed
along lines of the plumbing ordi
nance, which was recently acted
upon by the council.'
It will be necessary to employ
an electrical Inspector, if the
measure is passed, but the bill will
carry a clause with it, giving the
duties of electrical Inspector to the
plumbing inspector, who is to as
sume his duties soon. " 'XjS-;
The object of the ordinance is
to standardize the electrical work
of the city, as well as the plumb
ing work that Is being done. In
this way, dangers of fires can be
reduced to a minimum, as, many '
conflagrations result from defec
tive wiring in" homes and other
buildings. r : .. 4 , , , i
