OSAKA, Japan, May 23 (By
The Associated Press) A severe
earthquake occurred at 11:08 tbis
miming. It ; centered la the Ta
Jima district, 80 miles northwest
of Osaka. The town of Toyo-Oka
Is, reported badly damaged. There
vas no damage in Osaka. Tokyo
and Yokohama were not affected.
The greatest 'damage is belier
ed to have been' done in Tajima
Ulstrict although i the ' shock felt
