Tax Moneys Received-
One single check for $309,500
was given to County Treasurer
Drager by Sheriff Bower or coun
ty tax money. To date a total of
$741,516.29 of 1924 tax money
has been turned over to the treas
urer by the sheriff: ? It is esti
mated that about $1,000,000 has
been collected, but no official
turnover made. This will be made
when the money lias been segrer
gated under the various heads.

The county courts of Marion and
Yamhill counties are to meet at
some future date to discuss the
problem of a ferry service between
the two counties on the" Willam
ette river at Wheatland. Yamhill
residents have signed a large pe
tition to secure the service, as
well as a large number of Marion
county residents.

temper, and that he calls her vile
names, Junette Elizabeth Ashby is

Fir. Alarm Sounded .
The fire department user, three
gallons of chemicals to put out a
chimney fire at 143 South Thir
teenth Friday. No damage was
reported. A call to a storeroom
over the Buslck grocery caused the
department to use 35 gallons of
chemicals. Records and stored
articles were damaged by the blaze
which occurred about 6:30 o'clock.
