For the Illegal transportation ot
liquor, W. p. Hardy paid a tine
of $200 to Police Judge Poulsen,
when he was arraigned yesterday.
It la one of the biggest fines that
hare been assessed in the local
police court for some time: Fines
were imposed upon I J. Nevitt,
and W. Thomas for speeding, they
paid a fine of $25 between them.
W,J. CotteraU paid a fine of $5
when he was arrested toy Officer
Hickman. Max Barhyte paid a
similar amount on a charge of

Has. Unique Pets
R. O. Hoffman, who la buyer
for ' the Oregon Growers has two
pets-which he secured In Sherman
county, eastern Oregon. They are
two small coyotes, named Betty
and Bob and are so small that
:they have" to be fed from a bottle.
- Hoffman states, the coyotes will
be large enough to train and he
plans to pat them through some
tricks. The animals- were dug out
of a coyote hole with the mother
and seren others, it Was reported.
