Oldest Grape Vine
The oldest grapevine in the Wil
lamette valley has been discovered
at the Wolfer place near Hub
bard, according to Earl Pearcy.
The vine was set out by Hubbard,
the founder of the Hubbard town
site', in 1859 and its main trunk
has grown to nearly a foot and a
half in diameter. The 1 grapes
grown on the vine are of the Con
cord type, but the exact name of
them is not known. A great yield
is made each year by the .vine. .
