1 Senator ' Hall reports that by
1930 Marshfield, his home town,
will be able to annex enough ter
ritory to be the second j city in
Oregon. When he heard that Sa
lem had 22,000 people and still
growing, he said It might possibly
be third, but mighty close to the
second. Senator Hall is one of
the outstanding . figures In state

Holt; head of the mathematics de
partment, suggested the establish
ment of an advanced algebra class
to care, for students 'who are plan

quested that the higher math be
