he addressed the Ministerial as
sociation yesterday at their regu

Family in Distress
'Jack London, who resides in an
apartment house at 160 Court, re
ported to the police Monday morn
ing that a family in the same
house were destitute of food and
were confined? to i the house with
scarlet fever, After, conferences

ter was referred to the Associated
Charities and relief given the des

Boat House Planned'
The Spongf boathouse at the
foot of Court street, which was
demolished by ice in the Willam
ette river, will be rebuilt, accord
ing to the announcement of Capt.
Jack Spong. The logs which had
held the house on the water were
washed down stream and as a con
sequence everything will be re
built. Additional rooms will be
provided . for Jcanoes in the .new
structure, as the wrecked building
could not accommodate the canoes
and boats already on hand.

' H. Harlan, who was arrested by
Officer Wiles llast night, was irate

can pull these hick town tricks, I
can put'up the ball," he said, as
he drew a 35 bill from his wal

speed limits, although his car was
