Thomason Field Man for
Vancouver Linen Plant
P. E. Thomason, of Turner, pro
minent flax ' grower, has been
named (field man and is one of the
directors of a new linen mill to be
built at VancouYer, Wash. The
plant is being backed by eastern
capitalists and will also manufac
ture flax pulling machinery. Em
ployment is to be given 2000
workers inside of a year, accord
ing to present plans. Capital stock
has been fixed at $600,000.'
An option on 14 acres of land in
one of the steel shipyards will be
closed at once and the plant is ex
pected to begin operations in
three months. The lease will ex
tend for 30 years and includes a
portion of an old plat shop with an
area of 200 by 450 feet; fire rail
road tracks and a loft 80 by 450
feet. ' ' .' ;
