of state, who Is the. custodian of
both the House of Representatives
and the Senate Chamber. - The
four flags chosen .will afford two
for each auditorium, an immense
American flag and a mounted
state seal, both to be handmade
against their own mounting of
white silk. Altogether,, the cost
of these unusually ! handsome
flags, which will replace those
which after . 40 years of service
have grown to quite a disrepu

and eight hundred dollars.
An attractive, short program is
being planned for the dedication
evening, with the public cordially
iuvited to attend. The date will
be either January 8th or 9th.:

"There never was such magni
ficent singing, and I never heard
such beautiful cnorus work," said
Mr. H. E. Krehbiel, the New
York Tribune's well-known musi
cal critic, in speaking of the
Rhondda Welsh Male Singers who
will appear at 8. o'clock tomorrow
evening at the. Armory. ! The Wil
lamette University "Men's Glee
club is sponsoring their coming,
and one of the season's treats in
music is assured. !
These are the singers who at
the international song festival in
Pittsburgh, in a competition with
53 choirs, won the 11000 first
prize. One writes that "the mere
mention of Welch singers stirs
the average musical pulse," for
the Welch are renouned over and
over again-for their singing. The
same critic reports that it P has
been said that "the voices in the
Rhondda Welsh chorus have been
selected with such consummate
skill that a scale beginning on
low D in the bass; progressing up
ward through second-bass, first
bass,, second tenor and irst tenor
