Read thfl r.lassififtd By WHEELAN Lower Freioht Rales On Berries Effectivo Announcement of lower freight' rates to eastern points on barrel ed berries, effective this season, was made yesterday by C. A. Gc r ken, traveling freight agent for the Great Northern railroad. The new rate reduces the old charge of -$.128 per hundred weight ta $1.05 per hundred weight on a 30-ton car load lot. On shipments -of 25-ton carload shipments tl.o old, rate will apply. The new rates, according to Mr. Gerken, are designed to encourage berry raisers of the valley and ta allow for competitive -eastern prices with Michigan and Vir ginia. They had Just renewed their acquaintance after he had been abroad for some years. "Why, Mi.n Hawkins," he said, "you have changed so I should hardly have known you." "For better, or worse?" sho asked. ' "Oh," he repliedgallantly 'you Lfeould only change for the bet- ter!"
