tennis championship of the t city
from Roy Okerberg. This Is the
second time tnat Kmmel has cap
tured the singles honors in the
annual tournament which Is spon
sored by the Salem Tennis associ
ation. The sets stood 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Okerberg won the men's doubles
title by defeating Emmel and
Mickey, 6-1, 6-2. ; Mrs. Hunting

NEW YORK, May 28. Robin
Reed, OAC wrestler today became
the favorite in the 134 pound class
when he entered the semi-finals
of that class in the Olympic try
outs by throwing T S. Davis, Phil
adelphia in two minutes, 50 sec
onds. Chester Newton, Portland,
Ore.; L. W. Bringham. Oklahoma
AA&M college and C. C. Adell,
United States navy, complete the
semi-final group of the 134 pound
class.
Robin Reed, junior at-Oregon
Agricultural college, scored the
first fall made under one minute
during the tournament when he
threw L. W. Bringham, Ohlahoma
A&M college in 54 seconds. It was
the victor's fifth verdict by a fall
and placed him In the finals of the
134 pound class. Reed's, final op
ponent will be a fellow towns
man, Chester Newton of the Mult
nomah AC, Portland, Or., who won
a decision from C. -E. Adell, U.
S. navy. : '
