The choir and pipe organ re cital tonight at the First Metho dist church promises to give Salem music lovers one of the treats of Whe season. Thes choir -numbers have been selected with unusual care. The choir consists of 50 voices and under the direction of Professor E. W. Hobson has made careful preparation and as usual will sing with fine precision, shad ing and spirit. The male chorus is of particular interest.. Professor Roberts will play the organ in Its improved conditioft and will render several numbers of interest. 4 The, first number is by J.' H. Rogers, the "Prologue. Mr. Rogers -is a well known co'tn poser and organist.; The larger part of his.' compositions ' Is songs and by : these he is best known.
