dian school hare " contributed the
best. efforts- In every department
of -the institution In making the
, school display one of the best and
most complete in history.
The displays consist of work in
the -various departments, and are
attractively presented. -From the
boyg department are shown nu
merous articles In carpentry, iron
forging,' wrought . Iron, printing,
plumbing, machine-shop, cabinet
working and masonry. The exhib
it Was arranged under the' direc
tion of J. Uiff, superintendent of
industries at the school. All of
the work shown Is that of stud

by the fife and drum corps of the
Grand Army of the Republic. - A
little thing like occasional -show-era

nearly- erery section t the' fair
grounds , was serenaced . by the
little band.

One of the strangest exhibits tn
the poultry display Is a. Rhode Is
land Red cock, owned by Mrs.
Henry White, Detroit, Ore.
Though of the masculine type, the
old rooster Is mothering a brood
of chicks in as capable a manner
as any hen. The Mood is the
third he has mothered this season.
Another of the .oddities . of the
poultry, display is' a pen of
"Qnaekiess" duels. These, It was
