Dr. F. L. Utter Advertises,
and Society Considers
It Unethical
Dr. Floyd L. Ttter of Salem
and Dr. EL H. Utter of New berg,
brothers, have been ousted from
membership In the Marion-Polk-
Yamhill Dental society because
they advertised their business in
newspapers, it. became known
here yesterday. The Salem den
tist had not yet received formal
notice of dismissal, but the report
waa confirmed by 'Dr. Leon Bar
rick, president of the organisa
tion. Advertising by dentists, it ap
pears, is considered unethical bj
the dental profession. Dr. Utter
said that he had submitted his
resignation to the society prior to
its meeting last Friday, but that
it was not acted upon at the. time,
and he also averred that he had
done no advertising prior to si-nd-ing
in his resignation. He de
clares that business has been
bettt since he and his brother
began advertising and that they
now expect to advertise more ex
tensiYely. "The movd is verv
satisfactorj to us." he declared.
Dr. Utter has been a member
of the Salem city council for of North Pacific Dental college of
several years and is a graduate Portland. ,: -
