Albany Men Promoted
Leonard L. Magee, recently a I
sergeant in the Albany company
of the coast artillery, O. N. G.,
was on Monday commissioned as!
first lieutenant, and Daniel E.
Lawrence, recently an enlisted
man of the same organization, was
promoted to a second lieutenancy.
Both will continue to serve with

The Muscovites, the fun making
order of the Odd Fellows, held
big ceremonial in Dallas, Satur
day night at which 38 candidates
were given the work. Members of
the order and candidates from
every city and town in the valley
were present and a degree team of
Portland, accompanied by a large
number of members of the order
from the metropolis were also in
attendance, the degree team con
ferring the work. A big parade
was held on the main streets ' of
the city in the evening prior to
the initiatory services. A chicken
pie suppet was served the mem
bers of the order at the Woodman
hall at the close of the services.
