During the week the Marlon
county, teachers were attending
institute in Salem, they voted that
Secretary Hughes did the right
thing on the armament proposi
tion. They also instructed .Mar
I. Fuikerson, county superinten
dent, to telegrah Mr. Hughes and
tell him how the teachers here
felt about it. Yesterday she re
ceaved the following telegram
from the private secretary of Mr.

The canoe house which went a
wandering during the big flood

Wants Date for Final Hearing
Clara L. Pike, administratrix
of the estate of Isaiah D. Pike,
has petitioned the county court
for a date when a .final hearing
may be heard. She states there
are no claims against the estate.

exnenses and doctor's bill of
$336.50.

William A. Hermens has been
appointed administrator of the
estate of Martin Hermens. who
died December 1, 1921. The es

Final Debate
The final debate of the inter
class rivalry will be held tomor
row morning at 11:30 at Willam
ette university. The winner of
this debate will obtain the Elmo
S. White trophy cup. The sub
ject, "Reso:vett that the United
States should take the lead in In
ternational disarmament by sus
pending her present naval pro
gram." The Juniors will repre
sent the affirmative and the
