Mrs. Jane Burns Albert, so prano of Portland, entertained the students at high school assembly Thursday. Toyson Smith has purchased the L. M. Tucher farm at Huilt. Mr. and Mrs. O. Dokken have returned from their visit in North Dakota. J. Ottesen who has been visit ing at the home of Rev. Mr. and Mrs. George Henriksen has decid ed to stay at Silverton indefinitely and has taken rooms at the home of Mra. C. S. RIstad at Third and Main streets. Miss Marie Tinglestad is visit ing her brother at Jefferson. Fred Krug, Sr., and his two daughters. Miss Minnie Krug and Miss Martha Krug, are moving in to the house Mr. Krug recently purchased in the Geiser addition. Mr. Krug is one of the old settlers around Silverton, having lived for many years on his farm in the Brush creek district. Alvin Krug, son of Mr. Krug, who was recent ly married, will live on the farm. Miss Minnie Krug has accepted a position at the Farrell Plumbing shop as bookkeeper. Mrs. E. M. Subke has returned from a visit at Portland. The new bell at St. Paul's Cath olic church which is to be dedi cated Armistice day was donated by Silverton business men. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. A. Hansen have purchased a lot of EL R. Adams on South Water street. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen expect to build on it in the spring. Word has been received by Orlo Ruble and Mrs. Earnest Palmer that their brother, Earl Ruble has been seriously hurt in the lumber camps at lone. Wash. Olaf Hillard motored to Port land the middle of the week on business for the Benson Pheasant farm. n; The Spiritualists are going to hold a meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Haynes Sunday morning. Trinity band and orchestra held a business meeting Friday night. Alfred Jensen was re-elected Joint president; Alvin Henjum vice president; Walter Toft, secretary; Elmer Johnson treasurer. Two new members were also accepted, Axel Larsen and Arthur Steel hammer. The association decided to hold a basket social some time during the winter to raise money with which to buy more instru ments. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Meyer, Miss Althea Meyer and; Ludvig Meyer motored to Hubbard yesterday to visit at the home of Mrs. Meyer's brother, S. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Madsen, Miss Lillie Madsen and Alvin H. Madsen motored to Hubbard yes terday and spent , the day with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Williams and Mr. and Mrs. E. Olsen, former Silverton residents. The Olsen family were all present for the first time in 16 years. The last family reunion waB held in Nor way on November 6, 16 years ago. The children who were present were Arthur Olsen of Portland, Mrs. Maria Svarvari of South Dakota, S-inar Olsen, recently re turned from Sfberia, and Mrs. Alvin Williams, Hubbard. der pupils gave a Hallowe'en party at the school house.
