The fight over the teachers'
tenure in office bill was trans
ferred from the senate to the
floor of the house yesterday when
the Hume resolution, deferring
legislation on the subject for two
years, was debated and a bill in
creasing the membership of the
school board in school district No.

Representatives Kubli. North.
Hindman, Leonard. I lot ford, Mc
Farland. Korell. Vel!s and Mc
Donald Introduced the new bill in
the house and it means that the
proposal to reconsider the Staples
bill in the senate will be aband
oned and that the legislators fav
oring the amendments of the
teachers' tenure law will center
their fight on the passage of the
new measure.
The Hume resolution was ta
bled following a motion by Repre
sentative Lynn of Multnomah, to:
the suspension of the rules In or
der that the house might take .Im
mediate action upon it.
Rising to a question of personal
privilege. Representative Kubli
urged that the resolution be tabled.
to permit the Introduction of a
substitute bill, which, be said.
would forever settle the question
that has been bothering the Mult
nomah delegation for more than
a month.
