Paulus. sales manager of the Oregon Growers Co-operative as sociation, to advertising and standardization of quality. In 1916 thra was a consumption or 82.s00.000 pounds of prunes, while last year it was 200.000.000 pounds with the big advertising campaign being put on by both the Oregon and California prune associations, it is felt that within a few years, even tbe present con sumption will be doubled. Court Street Church Making Rapid Strides The Court Street Christian church of Salem is forging right ahead. This is what the reports indicated at the annual meeting of the church Monday night. Sine the present pastor came here a year and 10 months ago tbe church has seen wonderful growth in numbers and power for good in the community. In that time the membership of the church has trebled. The past-year ha-eeen the membership doubled and the church in finest ot condition. There has been an enlargement of work in every department. The present building Is too small to accommodate the rapidly growing Bible school and plans are now under way Iot the erec tion of a new church building In the near future.
