report made by Miss IvajBrock of

car. .He was knocked down by the
machine and when picked up was

doctor was quickly summoned and

William Burke, who escaped
Saturday night from the Oreson
state nospital, was found near
Lake school yesterday
morning. When located he was at
a farm home in that vicinity,
where his unusual actions aroused
suspicion and led to his apprehension.

Three Cars Mix
R. E. Cochran reports that
while driving on the Pacific high
way near Gervai,s Sunday after
noon, a car owned by W. J. Sal
vage. ,in attempting to pass his
machine, at the same time met a
car being driven by Norris Goward
of Portland. The result was a
head-on collision between the Sal
vage and Goward cars, and the
three cars bunched together. Mrs.
salvage was . reported slizutv
bruised, but the- other occupants
of the cars, were unhurt. The
three cars were damaged.
Automobile Recovered
Officer Porter brought in a
Ford . automobile Sunday from
South Winter street, where it had.!
been left standing for several
days. Later it was found to ans
wer the description of a Ford car
taken from Portland, and for
which notice was sent from the
theft department by that city yes
terday afternoon.

Joke Rather Crude
In an effort to play a Hallow
e'en prank, some boys on Eigh
teenth street, threw a bucket of
white paint on the porch of a resi
dence which Eplashed through the
screen door doing considerable
damage to the interior. The in
cident has been reported to the
police, who are not considering it
in the light of a joke.
